Gen. Soleimani a thorn in the eyes of US: Senior Pakistani journalist

Lahore, IRNA -- Senior Pakistani journalist says Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force, is a true hero of the Islamic world, adding that the martyr Iranian commander was a thorn in the eyes of the US.

Salman Ghani, a well-known analyst from Dunya News in an interview with IRNA on Saturday said the Americans are plotting to damage the image of devoted and heroic figures of the Islamic Jihad and are challenging Islamic countries.

Regarding the humanitarian character of Martyr Soleimani on the eve of the second anniversary of his and his comrades' martyrdom, he added there is no doubt that the services and sacrifices of General Soleimani were a thorn in the eyes of the United States and its allies in the region.

The journalist stressed that the United States has never been and is not a benefactor of Muslims or Islamic countries, so Muslims must stand up against their common enemy by putting aside differences.

He added heroes like General Qasem Soleimani are a beacon for nations, especially the young Muslim generation, but we must know that the Americans are seeking to damage the character of these heroes.

Salman Ghani stated that the strategy of the Americans in the region was challenged by Qasem Soleimani and they assassinated this devoted figure in order to escape failure.

He called for the formation of a common front of the Islamic world to overcome the crises ahead, including helping the Palestinian people, and warned Washington's intentions and way of thinking towards Islam and Muslims are not sincere, so we must be vigilant against the real enemy.

The Pakistani analyst added that the US goal is to tarnish the image of prominent Muslim figures because they know that theses heroes are role models for Muslim nations and cause failure to Western plans in the region and the world.

The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps' Qods force commander Lieutenant General Soleimani and the Deputy Commander of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), known as Hash al-Shaabi, Abu Mahdi Al-Mohandes were martyred by the US in targeted airstrike against their motorcade in Baghdad airport on January 3, 2020.

As a result of this White House terrorist act, the IRGC fired several ballistic missiles at the US base of Ain al-Assad in Iraq's Al-Anbar Province which was a big hit to the American forces.
